WE TAKE ACTION + HELP YOU TAKE ACTION.

ACTIVATIONS

Our Activations form a framework for action. We believe that everyone comes to their changemaking journey from a different lane, and our activations are set up to help you find yours. Our projects fall under these four activations, and we believe that approaching these systemic issues requires action in all of these different areas.

The Avritah network seeks to engage and empower key stakeholders from all backgrounds, particularly other young people, academics, policymakers, businesses, media, and current and future health professionals to take action and lead their communities to champion change through our Activations.

Issues of environmental injustice and health inequity are threatening our health, burdening our healthcare system, evaporating the future of our planet, and impeding our ability to create just and equitable systems for all.

SO LET’S DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

RESEARCH

Are there worse COVID-19 health outcomes for those people living in heavily polluted communities? What does understanding cancer drug pricing have to do with a petrochemical plant near minority communities in Cancer Alley, Louisiana? Are more people of color dying of COVID-19? Will Medicare For All become increasingly important in the age of climate change?

EDUCATION

Calling all people interested in learning more about the intersections between human health, the healthcare system, and the environmental crises we’re facing! We’re creating a grassroots curriculum called “Intersectional Healthcare” with which we hope will educate pre-health professionals and interested folx across the country about health and healthcare in the 21st century as it interacts with issues of equity and environmental justice.

ADVOCACY

Have you ever wanted your elected officials to get more involved with issues of environmental justice? Do you find yourself intricately interested in how health policy makers work to ensure that Americans are covered by health insurance in an age of environmental disaster? Do you want to advocate the health of those disproportionately affected by environmental injustices?
