PERSONAL & COMMUNITY ACTION
The Personal Action Activation was constructed with the knowledge that there is an entire world of work that doesn’t fit within the boxes of research, education, and advocacy.
This is where community-based projects, like creating a community clothing swap, building a community garden, offering a rejuvenating place for marginalized groups on the front lines of these issues, integrating education about intersectionality into your workplace, or coordinating a school composting system can live, breathe, and evolve.
Personal projects inspired by your individual interests in change—from personal care, waste, beauty, and fashion, to experimenting with sustainable architectural materials, working to understand and explain climate change to your peers, or visually depicting instances of environmental racism and health inequity—belong here too.
This activation is home to that creative spark in each of us and is a space to innovate a project that reminds you of how you know how to care about these issues.
Within this activation, Anushka and team Avritah will bring you personal actions to inspire your own journey. We hope that you will be inspired to bring your action to life and communicate with us you work so we can expand our community and amplify your efforts.
SPOTLIGHT PROJECT
For The Farmworkers of 805 (Para Campesinos de 805)
Led by the incredible Beatriz Basurto of Team Avritah in concert with Shaheera Abassi, Para Campesinos de 805 is a mutual aid campaign focused on directly supporting the health of those farmworkers who work through respiratory pandemics and horrible air pollution after the CA fires in order to feed us.
